    Olesya and Yáo boarded the Hail Mary expecting to die. The mission was always meant to be a one-way trip, and both made peace with that long before launch.

    Then they survived.

    After spending years in a coma, they wake on Erid to discover that humanity has been saved, they are alive, and a future they never expected to have is suddenly within reach. For the first time since leaving Earth, the possibility of going home feels real, but the hope doesn't last long.

    The Hail Mary will never fly again. The ship was damaged beyond repair, and there is no way back to Earth. Olesya and Yáo find themselves grappling with a cruel reality: they had already accepted death, but accepting life on an alien world proves to be far more difficult. What was once a sacrifice they chose has become a future they never agreed to.

    (Those who learn from the past do not repeat its shortcomings, but historians still debate what they are—what this is. After her passing, the route becomes colloquially known as the Via Evae—a devotional for those who have offered up their loved ones at the altar of the greater good.)

    In the end, Eva does have the coma gene and having spent so much time around Ryland Grace, she feels more than up to the task of being the replacement science officer. In her place, Ryland becomes the head of the Petrova Taskforce and is arrest and thrown into a hole. Ten years later, finally Courtland gets a hint of where his brother is and stops at nothing to get back him back. Though the years have not been kind to Ryland.

    This is the story of what happens when Ryland Grace's brothers rescues him.

     

    The story will deal with torture, imprisonment, abuse, and sexual assault. The sexual assault is in the past, will not be discussed as a matter of the past and therefore will not be described in any detail. This story is much more about the aftermath. Chapters will include specific warns for material within them.

    “You haven’t had a heat for years. Induced by stress and overuse of suppressants,” she states, again, a factual statement rather than a question. Of course she knows his file from memory.

    His head falls back, and he struggles to comprehend the words for a second, a half-hearted whine making its way out his throat. A daze settles over him, and he ruts against nothing again, unable to hold back the full effects of his heat anymore. He needs something to touch his dick or else he might cry.

    When he looks back up, Stratt’s eyes are dilated, and he smells the pheromones she’s releasing…it smells like arousal.

    “Dr. Grace…do you…would you like assistance with your heat?” She finally says.

    Ryland Grace hasn't had a heat in years. When he does, it's obviously right in the middle of a meeting. Understandably, he runs away.

    Thankfully, Eva Stratt is there to help him.
