Summary
It was rare to spot Gaara before the midday break at all. Unless Lee happened to catch him trudging towards the Kazekage Tower, bleary-eyed and perpetually fifteen minutes late.
Which was why the sight of a red-draped figure swaying slightly in the harsh wind atop one of the disused outer guard towers had taken him by surprise. He hadn’t even been sure it was Gaara at first. It had been so early, morning in name only, and the sliver of the moon cast little light across the desert, leaving the figure’s face in shadow. It was only the silverine arch of sand creating odd forms behind his shoulders and the tense, closed-off posture of his body that gave him away.
Gaara hasn't been sleeping well. Lee tries to find out why.
