Summary
The mission went off without a hitch. In a way, that was the worst part of all this. All Hunter needed to do was take the win, order them straight to the next mission, leave it all as a tally mark on their victory board.
He never could take the easy way out, though. Wasn’t in his nature. So, once they cleared out the separatist relay station that was their real target, it had been easy to make the call to chase down the suspicious signal ten klicks out into the mountainous landscape. They’d expected to mop up a few stray clankers on patrol, maybe find some intel on them if they were lucky.
They weren’t lucky.
A mission gone wrong leaves Crosshair and Hunter captured, forced to rely on hope and each other while they wait for rescue.

Summary
Hunter had spent months thinking their family could never be whole again. That no matter what he did, there would always be a chunk of his heart missing where Tech was supposed to be. That fear had faded a little more every day, replaced by a hope so unfamiliar that Hunter thought he could get high off of it.
They had a new home, small but comfortable, gifted to them by the people of Pabu. Their people, now. Hemlock was gone. They were finally together. Things could be okay again. They could be complete.
Kriff, was he naive.
Hunter struggles to hold the family together after Tech, guilt-ridden by his actions as CX-2, hides himself away from the rest of the Batch. Crosshair has an idea that just might bring Tech back home.

Summary
Mayday rubbed at his face. They survived one death sentence - two, really, given that killing Nolan should have gotten them both gunned down on the spot - just to find themselves waist deep in a new one. Just another one of the galaxy’s cruel jokes.
“Have any good news you can give me?” Mayday asked, only half expecting an answer.
Crosshair didn’t even hesitate. “No.”
That ripped another chuckle out of Mayday, low and morbid. He leaned his head back against the wall’s cold durasteel. “Well. At least if we can’t get those comms up and running, we won’t die alone.”

Summary
This was his duty as commanding officer, technically. The Kaminoans turned shines out of training with a blaster and not much else. Making them into men that could function out of battle as well as they did in it was just part of being captain. Rex hadn’t ever shied away from the role before and he didn’t plan to start now.
That didn’t make it any easier to be approached cold with a request for an off-the-books sex lecture though. All before he’d even managed to grab a morning cup of caf, too.
