Chibita let out a huff of laughter. “You know what love is?” he repeated. The words weren’t mean or making fun of him, but they certainly were amused, if a little curious.
Karamatsu paused. He knew what love was, or at least he thought he did. If the feeling that he was overwhelmed with every time he looked at Chibita wasn’t love, then what the hell was it? If it wasn’t love that was making Karamatsu’s heart race when Chibita smiled, if it wasn’t love that was turning Karamatsu’s knees to jelly when Chibita touched him, then what was it? It had to be love. It just had to be.
But he couldn’t tell Chibita that.
