Summary
“Well this is unexpected.”
As he hears that familiar cadence, Meteor opens the door to his room, fully anticipating to see Ardbert arms crossed, commenting on their recent journey to Pandaemonium, only to hear an unexpected other answer: “indeed.”
What greets his eyes is Ardbert, whom Meteor chats with occasionally, and Zenos, whom he had presumed dead.

Meteor feels a headache impending. -

Summary
The new count has been throwing his weight around Camp Dragonhead and micromanaging Haurchefant's doings to such an extent that the commander decides to rebel. Instead of disobeying Artoirel outright, he chooses the option favored by many who have unreasonable bosses: malicious compliance, although he adds a very Haurchefant flavor to his obedience to the count's thoughtless orders.

Summary
“You don’t really hate me.” He croons, as smug as when you first met him. His aether brushes against your own, his darkness cool and inviting to how unbearable warm you feel. “Or perhaps you do. And instead, you hate that you cannot stop yourself from coming to me.” His teeth gleam in the dark of the night. “Or coming for me.”
