"Why aren't you answering me, Ladybug?" His voice tightened, desperation bleeding into every word. "Was Gabriel Agreste... Monarch?"
His tone grew firmer, more insistent, even as his own eyes began to sting.
His gaze drifted almost instinctively to the towering billboard across the street. The figure of his father gazed back at him, draped in pristine white, his smile immortalized in polished vinyl beneath words of gratitude. After all, he had died a hero. It was only fair that the city had organized a memorial to commemorate his sacrifice... right?
The sight curdled something deep within him, something he still had no idea how to name.
He turned back toward her, taking a step closer. "Please, My Lady..." His voice scarcely rose above a whisper. "Just tell me that I'm wrong."
The quiet desperation woven into his plea did not go unnoticed by either of them.
"Yes..."

Summary
Things between Ladybug and Cat Noir were getting better after the whole Cat Walker fiasco, but it still isn't like it used to be. Along with some new problems with his cat side, Adrien starts to see that his advice to Marinette about Lila was not the right way to go.
He just wants to fix problems in and out of the mask, but things are quickly growing beyond his meager control. Plagg tries to help in his own way, though Adrien is going to need to dig deep and unsheathe his claws. Cats are known for being independent after all.

“We’re not dating, not even remotely close to that.”
“Oh, but we could be,” she murmured.
“I can’t date you, Lila!”
“Why not?”
Adrien looked around, panicking. Someone had entered the locker room. And, of all people, it just had to be Marinette. Without any other option, Adrien cried, “Because I’m dating…Marinette!”
The blue-haired girl turned around in horror. Adrien laughed nervously.
“Guess the secret’s out, huh, babe?” he said to the room. She glared at him as he approached. He mouthed ‘play along’ at her while his back was turned.
“This will benefit you,” he hissed. The girl raised a sharp eyebrow, debated it for a moment, then turned to Lila and smiled.
“Guess so,” she announced.
It was a good thing Adrien had experience with putting on an act because those skills were about to be made useful.

Summary
Chloé Bourgeois left Paris a bully.
When she returns for her last year of high-school , she comes back…different.
Marinette doesn’t believe in that kind of change, not when she remembers every cruel word, every ruined day.
So when Chloé shows up her first day of senior year, Marinette assumes the worst and snaps at Chloé.
Adrien Agréste, supermodel who finally gathered the courage to defy his father and spend his last year of high-school with his changed best friend, steps in to defend Chloé, and makes an enemy out of the blue-bell eyed girl he’d been admiring earlier that day.
Now they’re stuck in the same school, the same year, and on completely opposite sides of a story neither of them fully understands.

Adrien is not dense and Marinette has a backbone.
