Summary
Ears ringing, Dallas can still hear Steve, Soda, and Two-Bit laughing. Light-hearted chuckles coming from each one of their mouths, Soda just having revealed that Johnny Cade has a date. Asked a girl out at the Dingo and she blushed all the way down her chest when saying yes. Soda is saying it was “just about the cutest thing he’s ever seen.” All the while Dallas’s heart starts beating so hard he can feel it thudding against his chest, hear it echoing in his ears, body getting hot. With anger, with jealousy?
