“Porque eu não sou. Sou um tipo diferente de alma. Um ceifador,” o estranho respondeu sério demais para ser brincadeira.
“Então você veio ‘colher a minha alma? Cadê a foice e o capuz? Você tem mais carne do que um esqueleto deveria ter, também.”
Isso pareceu tê-lo irritado, finalmente, mas foi apenas um leve estreitar de olhos.
“Você tem uma visão muito infantilizada da morte,” o ceifador respondeu depois de alguns segundos, com um julgamento frio, mas quente na sua provocação. “Ela não é uma entidade. É só o encerramento de um ciclo. A morte é o fim da vida. O trabalho dos ceifadores começa depois disso.”
“Na vida após a morte?” A pergunta foi ácida.
“Exatamente.”
