Asgard is one of the nine great realms. They are proud warriors who hunt huge prey and return to their cave to roast it by the fire. At that moment, they sing, get drunk on mead, and if they're lucky, they fornicate.
Loki doesn't take part; he is not strong enough, brave enough, or noble enough... and he is not loved enough to join them.
Midgard has better weapons; Tony Stark is ahead of his time and makes them.
The war between Jotunheim and Asgard is approaching, and Asgard is willing to sell whatever it takes for Midgard's weapons. And if Tony Stark only wants Loki in exchange, it's a good deal, right?

Dimitrov let out a labored laugh, “You seriously want me to kill you? Bash your head in until you’re unrecognizable?”
“More than anything.” Abel writhed under the man, waiting for the sweet release of defeat that’ll send him back to his box. The man flipped him over onto his back, pinning him down by his wrists. Golden brown eyes staring into cool silver eyes, Abel’s breathing picked up the pace as the man leaned in close.
“While I’d love to feel you grow cold by my hands, I’d hate to lose such a pretty face so soon,” Dimitrov’s voice was low and dangerous, “Perhaps, if you’re willing, I could claim an… alternative reward.”
