Summary
The sounds of mechanical noises meet her ears and it reminds her of Screwllum, of how he treats her so gently and she heaves, something in her chest aching at the movement before she coughs something up.
She stares down at what she coughed up in disbelief. Thoughts both run through her head at a dangerous pace and run out of her mind at the sight.
A flower.
A clematis flower.
Herta has always prided herself on her rationality, on her ability to make people think that she is the perfect embodiment of logic. She herself has always strived to be that. She cannot live without emotions however, no matter how much she tries, and her emotions towards Screwllum threaten to break her composure. The Hanahaki Disease was not a disease she ever thought she could fall prey to until recent times.

Summary
In your opinion, you had always lived a relatively normal life.
You were a fisherman, as were your forefathers for as long as it could be recorded. You lived alone in your little cottage by the sea, and rarely found yourself caught in precarious situations. A storm like none you’d ever seen before quickly changes that, and now housed in your tiny cottage is an injured yet vicious mermaid. With such a beast subdued, all lines of predator and prey are blurred- who is the hunter and who is the hunted?
Never forget where you belong on the food chain.
