“Taking a breather?” Dew asks, sidling up next to him. His voice is just loud enough to be heard over the ambient noise, the sudden press of him against his shoulder a pleasant surprise. It’s possible fire ghouls run warmer- probable, even- but Rain feels with certainty that the heat any contact from him throws off has more to do with his reaction to Dew, than anything else. Side by side, still clothed, Rain feels summer sun where they connect, even in the dead of winter.
