Summary
Life during the Great depression was hard. Barely living paycheck by measly paycheck. Elder Kettle is ill, his brother, Mugman, chasing his dream to be a writer. Though, small time writers don't get the bills paid. Despite this, he reassures Mugman that it'll all be fine and not to give up on his dream.
He himself, working in an illegal bar even with his family's disproval. Hey, at least he is bringing the money in. Life was fine, not perfect, but fine. That is until some no good family comes into town. A demon. Angel, and two wolves will disrupt the routine of life Cuphead has grown accustomed to and test how low he's willing to go to keep his dear grandpa alive.

Ivan turned his head slowly to look at him. “You have a what?”
“A plan.” Alfred nodded too quickly, his voice cracking a little. “There’s a Tires Plus like, two blocks from here. I saw it on Google Maps earlier. If we can get there, and I mean if, we can grab a tire. Steal it if we have to.”
Ivan blinked at him. The world felt tilted.
“You want to what.”
“You’ll distract the lizards, I’ll fix the tire. Simple.”
Ivan stared at him like he was speaking in tongues. His mouth opened, no sound came out. Then, finally: “That’s not a plan. That’s a death wish.”
“They’re kind of the same thing right now,” Alfred said, eyes still darting toward the edge of the lot. “But unless you have a better idea—?”
