Summary
Duke’s body felt heavy and his arm throbbed like hell. He only just noticed the amount of blood dripping onto his jacket and pants and he couldn't drive back to his apartment like this. He'd have to bother Miss Holloway one more time for some first aid.
Duke used his car to help him get up from the ground. His legs were shaking and he stumbled to lean on his car again. Something bright caught his eye in the side view mirror.
The moon.
Why did the moon look so… bright? Different? …Alluring? It made Duke turn to look for the giant rock in the sky. Seeing its nearly heavenly glow caused a tingle of dread deep in his chest. It made his chest feel even tighter than before.
Something was very, very wrong with Duke and he began to change.

“Coran, what’s happening?” Lance didn’t like how Shiro's voice shook. Was something wrong with the wormhole?
“The integrity of the wormhole has been compromised,” Coran yelled. “We’re breaking down!”
Lance sucked in a breath, eyes wide. Compromised? Breaking down? “What does that mean?!” He asked into the comms.

Summary
During a fierce battle at sea with the Outcasts, Hiccup and Toothless are shot down. The Riders have no choice but to retreat back to Berk as another large fleet of ships close in on them, overwhelming them with projectiles. They were able to retrieve Toothless from the water, but Hiccup was no where to be found.
Toothless is severely injured and needs to take time to heal. Hiccup washes up on an unknown island and has to figure out how to survive.
*This takes place somewhere in Riders/Defenders of Berk, when Berk becomes enemies with the Berserkers, and before Berk become allies with the Outcasts.* *I've realized 6 chapters in that there's a slight plot hole, so this is an AU now*Bookmarked by EmbracedFire

In which the dragon lurking beneath the sand is far older, more primal, and hungrier than the Sandbuster. A dragon with one weakness that Hiccup can exploit in only one way: Play dead and let the monster swallow him whole.
