Summary
It had been four years since the end of the war, and he had taken on the job that he dreamed of, at least that was what he thought. As an auror, Harry Potter had come face to face with some of the most horrific scenes any wizard or witch could imagine since the war. However, nothing could have prepared him for the sight of someone he once thought dead chained to a bed stained in blood, nothing but skin and bones. A man who once prided himself in his control and confidence was now an empty shell, broken. The roles of protection have reversed for these two men who once thought themselves too different, but perhaps they were merely too blind to see it.

Summary
The war's ending found Harry with a clear mind, free of all darkness from Voldemort. But that means that all darkness and anger that Harry experience right now was his own, and no one else's.
He tried to fulfill his duty, he tried to do his best, to take care of people before himself.
Yet, his only request that St.Mungo take care of Severus was brushed aside, like the man did not just die so they could win.

“If he survives this, I’ll make sure you people would never be able to step foot in the medical field, or any other field, ever again. And with all my might, I’ll have you serve a lifelong sentence in Azkaban for neglecting the treatment of the hero who had won us this war. If he doesn’t, I’ll burn this place into the ground… And I’ll personally ensure that you people never escape the fire.”

Dumbledore’s train when he dies brings him to an alternate universe with Tom Riddle asking for the defense post. There, he rights his wrongs and hires Tom Riddle as a Defense Professor to keep him from becoming Voldemort. It works. (Mostly.) Canon!Harry does the same unintentionally when he is a Firm Adult and stumbles into this AU Hogwarts hoping to teach defense. He cannot bc Tom.
