    Summary

“They all call me ‘Nomad,’” Steve says as he rolls up his sleeves, the window of skin on his forearms. “I go wherever I may roam. I adapt, I overcome. I take back what is rightfully mine."

Bucky feels a shiver glide down his spine. The love of his life stares right back at him, face shrouded with arousal, while an outstretched arm is placed high and above on the tree trunk. There’s nowhere for Bucky to run, nowhere to move. He’s effectively trapped by Steve’s bulk.

    “On your knees, soldier.”

This used to be a regular occurrence. Out in the woods. Just the two of them together. Not another soul around to hear what they might do.

    Summary

It’s a very normal morning on a very normal Thursday when Steve Rogers pops into existence on Bucky’s patio.

With the kind of things Bucky has seen and the life he leads, this wouldn’t usually be cause for concern. Steve gets up to all kinds of shit with the Pym particles these days – something about time travel having inter-dimensional consequences. And since Steve exchanged Grant for Responsibility sometime between lying on army enlistment forms and crashing a plane into the Arctic, he’s running around under the careful watch of Hank Pym and Stephen Strange, doing things Bucky takes care not to ask about.

But the Steve Rogers that pops into existence on Bucky’s patio is not the right Steve Rogers.

He’s dressed all in black, for one thing.

He’s got a metal arm, for another.

    Summary

Living as a fugitive is hard. Living as a man who has to wake the love of his life from cryo is harder. Why? The codes in Bucky's brain don't have a fix yet, but Steve has worse news to deliver. Bucky's dying slowly from self-destruct protocols inside him. Now, it's a race against time to save Bucky once and for all.

And maybe finally tell Bucky that Steve's been in love with him since he was a sixteen-year-old kid in Brooklyn. Oh and not get extradited by the UN from Wakanda. That'd also be great.

    Summary

Steve spends the next couple of hours killing time, watching TV with Sam and Nat. He wants to run. He wants to pace. He want to slip his skin and lay out on the porch of the guest cabin so Bucky knows he’s safe. He can’t do any of those things, so he watches a documentary about caribou migration and chews the shit out of the side of his thumb instead. Every time his leg starts to jiggle, Nat stops it with a fingertip.

Their presence helps, well, at least it stops him from doing something batshit.

Steve’s checking the time again when the sound of panicked yelling has him up and out the door in the blink of an eye, the door flies open at the same time Steve pulls at it, Bucky wide eyed and terrified and pushing the door shut- “Steve there’s a fuckin’ wolf out there!”

    Summary

As a boy of seven, Bucky sat at his babushka’s feet, listening to her croaky old voice talk of fairy tales and prophesies while her lips curled around a lit Laika, the smoke trickling from her nostrils like a tsmok from one of her stories.

His babushka was horror, and she was memory; a lingering link between a world Bucky’s mother hated and one he saw as fantastical and magical. She was the storyteller, the soothsayer and the bringer of Bucky’s dreams.

    She also heralded his nightmares.
