   Summary

   By all accounts, the child's presence here was impossible.

   I know of "Mirror worlds." Of those far off possibilities that some Cityfolk seem so interested in these days. But this was not that. In this child's mind I saw many strange things: Words I had never heard, sights that do not exist. In every conceivable way the child was alien, not just to The City, but to this world in its entirety.

   Now he awakes from his slumber; confused and alone. Curious, but afraid. It is dark now, and he will not last long.

   This is fine.

   I will watch over this child, from now until his time of death. And if he lives to see the day, my voice might guide him to be his truest self.

   It hurts.

   The body ached as he felt water fill his lungs. It was getting harder to breath now as well. He was supposed to be in the torn apart district of L Corp. Smoke from the Wing's Singularity covered the landscape. He had his gas mask on for a reason yet it did nothing now. And no amount of fighting the water itself could get him out of the sinkhole that was drowning in a body of water.
