Uh oh, Mario caught Luigi and Bowser in the act of kissing. Time to confront big bro! Surely Mario can see that Luigi and Bowser dating isn't going to be bad at all like he fears. . . right?
Mario doesn't get what happened to his little brother. Correction, yes he does, Bowser did! Mario won't let his little brother be brainwashed by that giant fire breathing turtle, mark his words!
In other words: Old promises, messy conversations (not those kind) and a refusal to listen lead to an explosive time with the Mario Brothers. Everyone else just happens to get caught in the cross hairs.
