“I do!” Hughie tells him, almost tearing up in frustration. “But I can’t be bonded to you like that without knowing you. Look, can we just, I don’t know, shower, put clothes on, make something to eat, sit down, and actually have a conversation?”
Butcher’s brow furrows. “You ain’t showering. Bloody hell, no. Just got you smelling right, I did.”

The scent hits him then. Cigarettes, sweat, whiskey, and…almonds? Hughie’s nose wrinkles, and he’s too slow to stop himself from looking down the aisle at where the odor’s coming from.
“Oi.”
The grunt is as jarring as the omega’s scent. Hughie grew up seeing all kinds of people from all designations, but this one is definitely on the less…conventional end of the spectrum, combat boots and swagger aside. He’s handsome, certainly, though it’s obvious to Hughie that he’s trying to hide his plump lower lip behind a beard, his soft belly under the raging print of his button-up shirt. Hughie’s mouth waters, and his hand flinches with the urge to rip it off while claiming that mouth. Charitably, he looks like a Grand Theft Auto avatar from 2007. Uncharitably, he’s menacing, and Hughie’s dick should really understand that more than it currently does.
Hughie swings by CVS for shaving cream and rut suppressants. Surely, nothing interesting will happen.
