"Do you ever smoke?" For a moment, Jamal thinks that he must have misheard him before his head manages to put the syllables properly together. The question catches him off guard and leaves him wondering where the subject is coming from.
By now, they'd only spent one season together, excluding the current summer break, and Jamal had never before caught a glimpse of Michael smoking. In fact, when they had celebrated the league, Harry had offered them his cigar just for Michael to decline before Jamal could even consider his own answer.
"No?" he answers, confused. "Why are you asking?"
