Summary
Lestat and Louis have travelled the world happily for 40 years since they and Claudia had gone their separate ways after she tried to kill Lestat. After not hearing from her for that time, Louis begins to dream of her and Antoinette trapped in catacombs, during which Claudia begs for him and Lestat to come save her. Distanced from their anger, both agree that they must respond to their daughter's call for help.
Lestat had promised himself never return to Paris, but the Coven had captured both Claudia and Antoinette to lure him back after nearly 100 years away. With Louis by his side, he hopes that they can survive this encounter with his old coven and get Claudia out alive. Will his relationship with Louis truly survive the malicious vampires from his past?
Sequel to "Weathered" and takes place in the 1990s.

Lestat never dropped Louis; he snaps out of his violent episode at the last moment, then promises himself and Louis that he will do everything in his power to be a better companion to him. Louis, realizing that Lestat never knew that his love was returned, does his best to break the abusive cycle that he and Lestat have been trapped in.
Claudia writes in her diary and contemplates what she will do to make sure she and Louis are both free from Lestat. He is a monster, and she knows there is no way that he would ever truly change; he is just playing nice to manipulate him. But she won't fall for it!
This is the second in this AU, and I'm not sure it will make much sense if you don't read the first one.

It wasn’t true, though he had trouble bringing himself to speak the words out loud, he knew life was better with Lestat than without it. Faced with Louis's compassion and forgiveness Lestat acknowledges his past wrongs and willingly begins to answer Claudia's questions about the Vampire world with honesty. Meanwhile, Claudia is consumed by fury over Lestat's cruel behavior toward her and Louis in the past and how much he hurt Louis in the attack. As tensions refuse to dwindle between Lestat and Claudia, Louis strives to maintain harmony within their fractured family, balancing Lestat's sorrow and Claudia's rage. He finds himself protecting his maker from their daughter's anger as they navigate redefining what their family looks like.Series
