Summary
The year 127 AC, two years before the death of King Viserys I. Lysara Stark is sent to King’s Landing, her hand in marriage having been promised to the king’s second son, Prince Aemond, by her brother, the newly minted Lord of Winterfell, Cregan Stark. The ever honorable Lord Stark believes he has made an auspicious match for his sister, betrothing her to the younger brother of the future queen, Rhaenyra Targaryen. The Hightowers however, have other, less savory hopes for the match.
Prince Aemond is prepared to do his duty and marry the Stark girl, to bring honor to his house, and strengthen his family’s position for the coming wars. What he isn’t prepared for is a wild eyed Northerner with a direwolf for a pet and her own darkling schemes to match any cooked up in the Red Keep. Will her icy heart bring about his downfall, or will the two of them burn together?
