He wonders if her blood is comparable to the unworthy. If it's red and tastes like metals, if it'd stain and spread slow into the dips of her clavicle. He thinks back on her moments of childish fluster, pink along her shoulders, up into her neck and cheeks when she'd laugh. And over the years he's felt the rapidity of her pulse on rare occasions, amid an embrace or comforting hold on her wrist. He's seen a vaguely red split on her lower lip, mouth always hesitating on some bout of insipid generosity or unwanted kindness.
She's looking at him now, and he's found himself on the precipice of wanting her.

Summary
Jubilife's sudden newcomer is many things: sullen, avoidant, determined not to make any friends. She demonstrates incredibly advanced expertise when it comes to catching, handling and battling pokémon. And, let's not forget to mention, she fell right out of the sky.
With such a fascinating (and potentially threatening) profile, it's really no surprise that Volo takes such an interest.

Ten summers have passed when Dawn meets a man clad in earthy scents and subdued hues. A hiker, she thinks, when she sees the backpack that weighs heavily on the man's shoulders, diluting his smile into something less wide, and more fatigued. She wonders, briefly, how long of a journey he must have had. The man holds the straps of his backpack as if it held terribly precious things, each holding a long-rooted memory.
