“A-Apologies,” she said, her voice wet from crying. “I haven’t even looked at your wound.”

    “It’s okay. I’m fine.”

It’s my fault. I made you cry. Words caught in Shin’s throat like a barrier behind his teeth.

“Are you really fine?” Lena asked him, her silver eyes shining. “The blood’s dried, but I haven’t seen you move your leg since we freed you from Undertaker.”

    “I’m fi—“

Shin stopped himself. Lena’s eyes were so bright and piercing, compelled Shin to—to—he wasn’t even sure. His mouth moved before his mind caught up,

    “I can’t move my leg.”

During the battle of Dragon Fang Mountain, Shin and Lena become trapped in the Revchel Citadel Base with little hope of escape. Becoming immobile due to injury, Shin has to face demons that are threatening to claw its way to the surface.

“I haven’t…” she starts, watches his blue eyes narrowed in concern and it’s distracting, everything’s distracting. “I haven’t had a body in a hundred years,” Zelda manages, and shrugs one shoulder, as if to say what can you do? “I was Hylia, mostly, and a little bit me, but I wasn’t a person. I was the sun and the wind and the water and the dirt and I was in a prison and I was the prison. I feel like I’m blindfolded, now, without that sense of the world, but also everything is so bright and loud and close and I hardly know how I’m managing to speak to you when my skin is feeling wind for the first time in a century. It’s…” she trails off, her words failing her, which is infuriating because she’s a scholar, she’s good at words. “It’s a lot,” she finishes awkwardly, for lack of anything better to say.

Or: Learning to be a person again, after the end.

There are absolutely no words to describe how much I LOVE this fic.
Everything is just perfect from start to finish. I can proudly say this is my absolute favorite fic with smut and fluff in it.

Also, my comfort fic needs to be read at least once a week.

    My personal TOP 1
(still waiting for Link getting railed to within an inch of his life )

    Summary

Once upon a time, in a half-forgotten life, she pried open his hard outer shell and coaxed him from it until she found the sweetness contained within. She has a million memories of him from Before, of secret smiles and adventures her father was never privy to.

But now, he won’t even talk to her—he’s uttered maybe thirty sentences to her since she woke. And Zelda feels as if she's drowning on land.

    OR:

Link needs a good cry, Zelda needs a break, and there's a fish. Or several.

    Summary

For as long as Xiao could remember, there had always been one constant in his life: his suffering. Simultaneously punished and fueled by his karmic debt, Xiao lived in a relentless cycle, one of endless duty and torment.

He thought the cycle was broken when he met the Traveler. Aether is open, patient, and kind–and more importantly, the first one to silence the screaming in his head. Unfortunately, Xiao’s tragic pattern was not fixed, just mutated.

The voice in his head–Alatus, a bloody reflection of Xiao’s many flaws–screams louder. Xiao finds it harder to ignore him, his demon no longer content to exist only in his shadow. Every moment of peace comes with a cost, and Alatus has no qualms with playing debt-collector.

Growing dangerously dependent on Aether’s guiding light, the darkness no longer simply encroaches on him. Xiao’s become its prey. His tormentor blurs the line between fiction and reality, leaving Xiao uncertain of which feelings are real, or simply a figment of his imagination.

Does Xiao have what it takes to overcome the evil in his own mind, or is he destined for a continued life confined to solitude?
