Summary
A hand grasped his arm, sending a brief thrill down Merlin's nerves as he was forced around to face the person behind him. Armour gleamed in the firelight: supple chainmail glinted, and the solid iron of a pauldron curved lovingly over one broad shoulder. The length of a sword blade separated them. The point hovered, steady and sure, over Merlin's heart, braced to run him through, but he did not care about any of that. He was too busy drinking in the sight of the man before him.
He could never forget him, no matter how many centuries had passed.
'Arthur?'
When Merlin ultimately fails in his destiny, the fading remnants of magic that linger in the modern world fling him not just back in time, but sideways as well. He ends up in a Camelot where all his friends are alive, well and aware of his magic.
He ends up in a Camelot where his alternate self died almost a year ago.

‘She won't.’ Sirius's jaw set with determination. ‘She's passed out in the drawing room. Father is in his study, drunk. They won't notice anything until morning, and by then we'll be—‘
‘Stop.’ Regulus held up a hand, his heart pounding so hard he could feel it in his temples. ‘Just... stop. What are you saying? Where would we go?’
‘The Potters.’
Regulus felt like the ground had dropped out from beneath him. The Potters. James Potter's family.
The same James Potter who Regulus had been secretly in love with since he was eleven years old.

Summary
Merlin, secret sorcerer, and not so secret Alpha makes a serious splash on his arrival in Camelot. Secret Omega Arthur now has to survive it.
Lots of tropes, I have no shame, and random additional characters when I felt like it. Some bits of canon but again only when I felt thus inclined; and I changed half of it. Maximum self indulgence included as standard.

Summary
In a flash of motion the blade of Excalibur rests against the hollow of Merlin's neck.
‘You are not fighting back,’ Arthur breathes with the shock and disgust a man can only feel when expecting pain and not receiving it, ‘is it out of trust, or do you truly not care if you die?’
‘If it is by your hand, I would make no attempt to stop it’ Merlin replies, breathing just as heavy, a small shake of his head and scrunch of his brow - as if the answer were obvious. If this was what the king wanted - if this was how a destiny ends - for once in his life Merlin would comply with the order freely.
