Jason was a tiger shark. In theory, he should grow up to be one of the most dangerous predators in the mer world, more than capable of hunting alone. But right now—he was a pup with no pod, and that put him on the menu for anything bigger than him. And that was a long list.But Jason had to feed himself, or he would die.
And to eat, he needed to hunt.
And to hunt, he needed to dive into Gotham Gorge where there was hypothetically, potentially, maybe, rumored to be a legendarily dangerous sea monster who would undeniably rip him to plankton-sized pieces if they actually existed.

Summary
The League didn’t know anything was wrong until Batman failed to show up for a meeting. By then, he’d been missing for two days.
Clark found the batsuit in Gotham’s harbour, and it wasn’t until three days later that he managed to find Batman, who had lost his cowl but gained something else equally, if not more, interesting than his secret identity.
Or: Batman gets turned into a mermaid, and Clark has to Deal With It while trying to wrap his head around the metaphorical bomb that is Batman’s secret identity, all while also trying to keep his big fat crush a secret so he can help his friend.
(Which happens to be incredibly difficult when said friend can’t remember who exactly Clark is, and keeps wrapping him up in his tail and pointing a batarang at his face while being all strong and bare-chested and beautiful.
Clark is so whipped and so doomed.)
