Summary
His thoughts are rudely interrupted by all the noise being made by the body in his arms. It’s taking every inch of Sid’s dick like a champ and loving it, and it just pisses Sid right the fuck off. He doesn’t even know why. He drives in roughly as fast as he can, wanting to get this over with and go home and is so caught up in being pissed and pounding ass that he doesn’t react to the door opening a little before quickly latching shut again. But he knows she’s here.
He can smell her hair, her leather boots, her, and doesn’t ask what she’s doing here even though her flight isn’t scheduled to arrive until the next afternoon. He doesn’t turn around either, not even when he hears the unmistakable sound of her coat being shed. In a matter of seconds she’s pressed up against Sid’s back, hands on his waist, rubbing her nose, her cheeks, her lips along his spine almost like she’s marking him. She hasn’t touched him like this since January and he’s terrified she’ll just stop. She doesn’t. His only acknowledgement is to lean his head back against her forehead and smile. She doesn’t see the smile though.
“Hey.” Her voice is soft and kind of breathy. It does weird things to Sid’s insides.

“Fuck my life,” Patrick muttered to himself.
Patrick could hear the familiar wheeze and stutter of the ancient Chevy coming up behind him as he walked along 16th Street toward Lake Yelenich Park. His eyes were wet and red and he wondered what his chances were of making it to the end of the sidewalk and ducking into the trees before Jonny could catch up to him. Again. He always seemed to be around to witness Patrick’s misery and humiliation, which really kind of sucked because Patrick was a proud boy and having Jonny see him like that made him feel nauseous and weird and he didn’t need that heaped on top of everything else right now.
“Get in. Come on, Kaner, I know you hear me. Just get in and I’ll take you home. I’ll even sorta promise not to say anything. One time offer on that last part.”

It’s no wonder Jon finds himself three cups of eggnog deep at the refreshments table, cheeks warm and toes tingling. He should really know better; Professor Tipton is renowned for spiking her eggnog as liberally as she grades her finals, buoyantly insisting that the holidays are a time for good will and good cheer.
It does the trick, though; the alcohol dulls the increasingly suffocating anxiety to a faint twinge. By the time that Patrick finishes making the rounds and knocks his shoulder companionably, Jon manages a real smile.
“Shit, Jon,” Patrick laughs. “I leave you alone for an hour and you’re toasted.”
(Or: Jon is an accomplished young Psychology professor at the University of Illinois, and Patrick is a 1st year doctoral student working on Jon's research project. There's just one problem: before the semester started, they met at a gay bar and had a one-night stand.
