Daisy blinked the tears away, and let out a breath. She turned back to him and opened her mouth to say something, but the words stuck in her throat, her eyes widening in panic.
“Coulson, your arm!” she shouted.
Phil looked down.
“What…”
It was gone. Brown, flaky dust was settling where the limb had been, and the destruction was spreading from the stump towards the rest of his body, rapidly eradicating his legs and moving towards his head. It was too fast, there was no way to stop it.
Was this his payment to the Rider?
There was no time. He looked up, he had to say goodbye.
“Daisy…” he started, but the dust swallowed the rest of his words, and a second later, he was gone.
*abandoned because it turns out i dont actually like writing bitter drawn out interpersonal conflict and i still dont know why mojed felt like it that time, but what else is new
