Jeongguk watches as the prisoner accepts a cloth offered hesitantly from one of the healer’s apprentices, winding it around his bleeding arm with quick and practiced movements, sliding a hand through his hair afterwards as though the injury, perhaps the entire situation, has barely even fazed him.
Jeongguk watches the strands of silky dark hair sliding through those delicate fingers, and thinks about secret arts of magical healing being applied to him by those hands, and a little shiver shakes through his body before he can stop it.
The freshly healed skin on his arm still prickles with goosebumps, and the memory of a feeling he hasn’t experienced in a very long time— a memory of intense pleasure.
