It’s pitch black. Nothing for your light-sensitive eyes to latch onto. If there was some sort of crack in the mechanism, you might be able to see by the soul fire just outside, but there isn’t. They did not take that chance.

Augh, this one breaks me. The whole story is just so sweet. Grangran Crocker is an inspired idea, and the scene where Jane shows June those old tapes is probably the peak of the whole fic. I can just hear the music playing when i read it, you know?

(Play Outer Wilds before reading this. It's one of the few games out there that are completely, 100% ruined by spoilers, which i do not say lightly!!)
This is so good! It really gives every Hearthian a distinct identity, which is insane considering there's like 20 of them. If you're not good at remembering who's who in large casts, this one will be a little hard to follow.
Be warned, the Hatchling has serious issues here. Time loops screw you up.
Solanum is potentially my favorite character in this. As a wannabe linguistics nerd, I think her arc about learning the Hearthian language is really fun to read!

Kris was done. They weren't going to tolerate the interdimensional invader in their ribcage any longer. And if they had to open a fountain to get rid of it, they were going to.
Or at least, they were. Until that invader offered something new: the chance to remember between resets. To make their own decisions with nothing more than some minor advice and a helping hand if requested. Naturally, Kris was interested. And that's why they woke up on Thursday morning, remembering two days that technically hadn't happened yet.
Messing with the code can be delicate work. Do the wrong thing at the wrong time, and the bridge might just break. Or change fundamentally.
It's a good thing nothing like that could happen, right?

This is like, the quintessential deltarune fanfiction to me. (At least before chapters 3&4 lol) I read it as it was coming out, and when the last chapter dropped, it was like the end of an era. This was my deltarune for a while.
It's got tons of lore and metafiction-y stuff in it, which I love. It's really deltarune's idea of "layers of reality" taken to its logical extreme.
It's also really long. Be prepared to lock in for this one.

This is the first fanfiction I ever read!
I really like this one. It has a lot of funny moments, and it's sincere when it matters most. I think it slows down a bit during the chapters taking place in the dark world, but this is a great one for some catharsis. Like, I don't want to get too personal, but I had a very similar character arc to berdly's while first reading this lmao
