Summary
Darkness. Paleness. Grey.
A shape takes form, slowly — slowly gains sharpness, contrast, definition. It's someone I can recognize — some blurred, familiar shape obscured by the wheelhouse of movement pinwheeling my vision.
The person speaks too loudly, too harshly, and my hands come up on instinct to cover my ears. It's only after I've missed and swiped wetness over my cheek that I realize, they're full of blood. Confusion sets in as I stare helplessly at what I can only assume are my hands, and I can feel my brain jostling around in my skull when I fall to the cement ground.
Cement. Cement. Cement. I stare at a rock and wonder how it got there. I watch a pebble fly away when a boot kicks it. Distantly, I'm saddened — how many times has that pebble gotten attention in the past? Would I ever see it again?
"—ne. Cr—... yle…?...what…—... you…?"
The last thought I remember having is of the crescent moon hanging bright in the night sky, surrounded by twinkling lights and dark clouds.
It sure was a beautiful sky.
Perfect for lying under.

Summary
"Miles," the sincerity in Phoenix's tone makes him pause. "You're breaking up with me?"
The sincerity crumbles.
"I cannot believe you—" Phoenix breaks into gleeful laughter, and it rushes through him with such honey warmth that he forgets all about his cold hotel room, "—how would that even work? How in God's name is a worm meant to be you?"
~~
or; one of those calls that comes out of Miles' and Phoenix's promise to call one another every day.

Summary
"Don't do this," Knuckles whispered, eyes glowing with reluctance.
Sonic didn't have a choice. He couldn't not do this. It wasn't an option.
Knuckles shut his eyes tightly—and Sonic prepared for it, eyes flashing with their fights before, all over the exact same thing they were fighting for now—
—and the energy surrounding him calmed.
"Part of our oath, is to abide by each other. I refuse to break it."
Silence swept over them.
"I will not fight you, Hedgehog."

Summary
"Thank you for yesterday," I say, with as much conviction as I felt. The Inspector had saved my life. Beneath the gratitude, the curiosity only rose. "My aim is not like before." It feels awful to admit it in this way—as if I were admitting myself into an asylum.
The Inspector only glances up and offers a curt nod, returning to his newspaper.
Perhaps he was humble. Perhaps he did not care. Perhaps the reading in the paper was particularly good.
Whatever it was, the corner had bent back enough for me to see the slight smile on his face—a twitch at the far corner of his lips.
I knew, then and there, that his friendship was one worth seeking.

OR; a teeny Papers, Please drabble I wrote in the span of two sleepless nights. (Play it. Trust me.)

Summary
The restaurant they had chosen in Santa Monica was a place so well-trodden by celebrities that no one batted an eye at Lestat, though their waitress paused slightly as she approached their table, eyes darting over the two of them.
“Just drinks for us,” Louis said at the sight of the food menus she had underneath her arm.
“Of course,” she said quickly. That was the other nice thing about Los Angeles: half the mortals were on liquid diets themselves, and so most restaurants did not balk when two vampires sat down at peak dinner hours for a couple martinis and cigarettes.
Cigarettes for Louis, and a garishly-colored vape for Lestat.

Thanking my lucky stars that my cowriter recommended this book to me, ah... a year ago... hahaha... (SORRY.)
I'm really happy I read this and I wish I did it a year ago. (*cough* and i could've *cough* (Worst mistake of my life)) Miles' inability to say no to Phoenix is hysterical.

Summary
“In your previous testimony you stated, ‘Don’t ever show your face in front of me again.’ Isn’t that right?” Phoenix asked pointedly.
“Yes, and your point being?” Edgeworth replied, his face a mask.
“There is a clear contradiction in your statement.”
Phoenix refuses to accept Edgeworth’s rejection and makes it his mission to reach out and rekindle their friendship. They find comfort in each other as Phoenix grieves and learns to trust again, while Edgeworth grapples with the trauma of his past and his future as a prosecutor.
A romance set during Gyakuten Saiban 1.
Silly with a side of serious, plus lots of banter and fluff!

Multiple murder cases cause the lives of the two men to become intertwined, and Phoenix and Miles must decide how far they are willing to go to discover the truth. a.k.a. an original trilogy rewrite, but the sexual tension actually resolves this time

I've scrolled to the bottom and I've seen those indents, I know this is going to be a doozy!!
For real, though, I love your authoring and I can't wait to give this a read. I've actually had the exact same idea, myself, so I'm thrilled to see where you take this.
