No tenía sentido ser un maldito mentiroso: Lucille no iba a durar mucho en este nuevo mundo. Ya la había perdido una vez, así que el dolor sordo que sentía no era nuevo; de hecho, ahora era como ver a un fantasma, un fantasma de carne y hueso. Todo era demasiado complicado.
—Y me convertiré en una de esas cosas.
—Sí, eso pasa cuando mueres, pero no te dejaré deambular, promesa de boy scout —dijo, intentando sonreírle. Ella suspiró, cansada, pero asintió.
—Bien, no quiero hacer eso, buscar comerte los sesos o algo así —se rió.
Como había extrañado los jodidos comentarios listos de mi mujer.
—Eso no sería muy sexy —dijo, moviendo las cejas con una sonrisa de come mierda demasiado afilada. Lucille suspiró y decidió irse a dormir.
