His immediate thought was you could never, but that would be a lie. He chuckled, sounding much more dejected than he intended to let on. How could he even go about talking about this with you? "No, you didn't do anything. I'm sorry I haven't been there for you."

Percy grinned, "Yeah, that's pretty much it."
James hesitated before looking down at his feet, "But ... Hermes has a lot of children more powerful and more popular than me. What would I even ask him for? It's not like he cares."
Maybe it was because Percy was reminded of that promise he wrangled from the gods at age sixteen, but one moment he was looking at the younger camper, and the next he was throwing some of his food into the fire and asking Poseidon for some Disneyland tickets very, very loudly.
But even though he wasn't quite sure how it happened, the small, shocked laugh that James let out made it worth it.

Percy sees that some of the newer campers don't feel 100% comfortable with requesting stuff from their godly parents, so he decides to rectify that the only way he knows how -- dramatically.

Summary
You're a first-class engineer aboard the 38th SEEDS ship in the Earth sector 1 fleet. Life is pretty routine, every 50 years the ship wakes you up to perform routine maintenance and check the plant systems. You read a book or two, you eat some gross space food, then you sleep until your next checkpoint. All straightforward, all as planned.
What's not in the plan is oversleeping by about 180 years and waking up in the arms of some blonde haired, dusty looking gunslinger. What's also not in the plan is starting new life on some crappy desert planet with sand constantly in your shoes. Falling in love with the aforementioned gunslinger could be negotiated as part of the plan, but it is DEFINITELY not the priority... right?

Summary
When people thought of Poseidon they thought of the sea; Poseidon, Lord of the Seas, Commander of the Waves, the Stormbringer. Upon consideration they would add Earthshaker, for catastrophic events such as earthquakes were hard to forget. Few remembered, however, that Poseidon was also Lord of the Horses. Stormbringer and Earthshaker tended to squeeze that one out.
Percy had been able to talk to horses for as long as he could remember. He liked to think he understood them. Although he's not entirely sure why the new stallion thinks he's its foal.
Poseidon is not jealous that Percy thinks a horse makes a better father figure than himself. At all.
