Jeongguk thinks the strange man with the dark brown eyes is lying.
“They said it fell.” A dark-haired woman next to him says, scaring Jeongguk. “And I swear to you, when they arrived and I checked the ribs… I don’t understand how it can just be healed now.”
The man with the dark brown eyes hums.
“Tell them the bunny died. Send them home with our condolences.”
“Pardon?”
The man with the dark brown eyes looks at the woman wordlessly until she complies, leaving the room.
Jeongguk is lifted to the man’s eye level, dark brown eyes peering at him with curiosity.

Jungkook liked his job. He liked the peace and serenity it brought. And since he had a penchant for the morbid and melancholy, he also liked that melancholy settled like a veil over the plants he tended.
Morbid was also the funeral home's regular visitor, Park Jimin.
Jimin's partners were dying like flies. It was fascinating and a little creepy: every time Jimin hosted the funeral of a loved one, Jungkook would get goosebumps seeing the man's contented smile as soon as the mourners said goodbye.
No wonder Jungkook fell in love, right?

This is a story about chosen families, acceptance, and true unconditional love. The queer struggle from my perspective.
