Footsteps brush against the carpet, heading towards him. Dick shivers under layers of cold water and a soaked suit.
Gloved hands brush against his cheekbones. The eyepiece lifts from his face, and the light it lets in is blindingly bright, making his eyelids reflexively shutter closed. “Nightwing. Are you with me?” His face wrinkles with distaste. A grating laugh follows it. “I’ll take that as a yes. Nice to see you again.”
Dick pries his eyelids open, just a sliver, to squint up at the man in front of him. Definitely the Red Hood. He runs his dry tongue over his dry lips, clearing his throat. “Wish I could say it is,” he rasps, barely managing more than a whisper.

Nightwing and Robin team up with the Red Hood's men to take out a target, Richard Gurns. It goes awry. Dick ends up in a sensory deprivation tank, tortured, until the Red Hood shows up to collect his men. He and Gurns have the same question: What does Batman know? What Dick can't tell them is that Batman isn't in town.
A different question gets answered: How far can Nightwing be pushed?Series
