It was getting colder again. The days were growing shorter and the mornings were now covered in pervasive dew. Trevor swore under his breath as he regained consciousness. It was frigid. And although his breath left a puff of vapor in the early morning fog, his clothes were drenched in sweat. Not a good sign.
He leveraged himself up carefully. The bandages he'd wrapped around his chest had come loose in the night. He'd probably been turning in his sleep again. He slowly pushed his large fur cloak off of himself and peeled back the soiled wrappings.
"Great," Trevor hissed as he gently prodded around the wound. The skin was red and hot to the touch, "No good deed goes unpunished, huh. Fuck."Series
