Summary
In an alternate universe governed by the same laws as our contemporary world, omegas, betas, and alphas are suddenly manifesting, but no one knows why. Scientists scramble to understand the mutation and how to stop it, while fear, jealousy, and prejudice run rampant. Many people refuse to register as “manifested,” worried about the stigma. Alphas are feared for their presumed superior strength and stamina, while female alphas are treated with the same disgust as male omegas, who can become pregnant, just as female alphas can impregnate. These evolutionary anomalies are new, mysterious, and dangerous in a world unprepared for them.
For hockey stars Shane and Ilay, being manifested is a secret they must hide just to play the sport they love. In a society where rules for alphas and omegas suddenly change, their very identities could put everything they care about at risk.
