When Vash leaves Wolfwood in the pre-dawn light it’s with a kiss to his pillow-creased cheek and a whispered promise to not forget the good coffee beans. He knows Wolfwood likes to hear the creak of the farmhouse floor marking where Vash is and the squeak of the screen door when he leaves, so he’s not quiet getting his stuff together for his supply trip.

Summary
So he keeps Angelina mostly parked out on the street and tries not to notice the way that Vash looks from him to the bike sometimes. Like he has something to say.
That happens a lot, with Vash; his mouth will open and Wolfwood can see the gears turning in his stupid spiky head but nothing comes out. Vash seals his lips closed with a smile and a nod.
Wolfwood’s not sure how he ended up here, not sure how he ended up being a person who pays attention to the way Vash’s lips move. It’s not the life he had before meeting Vash, nor the one he expected.

“S’fine,” he responds, easily, like he always does, shoving his hands in his pockets just for somewhere to put them. “You not interested in gossip or what?”
Vash makes a noise not unlike a squeal and tosses the dish towel onto the counter. “Noooo,” he says, tone plaintive, “Tell me, please?”
Wolfwood leans his hip against the counter and just looks at Vash for a moment. Peace looks good on him, he thinks, not for the first time. His hair, mostly black now, with a few small flecks of blond hidden throughout, isn't spiked up like usual and down and floppy like this it falls into his eyes just slightly. He's casually dressed, in jeans and a shirt, the sleeves rolled up to the elbows for his scouring endeavors.
Not for the first time, again, and not for the last, Wolfwood is so overcome with how much he loves him that it threatens to strangle the words in his throat.
