Summary
This story starts at the beginning of AWE, from where things take a different turn. We have blown canon out of the water, sent it down with the Kraken and created an alternative tale whereby James Norrington finds himself responsible for Port Royal and the fate of the West Indies. Along the way, Norrington finds himself burdened with unintended duty, unforeseen consequences, and one particular uninvited compatriot.
Story is complete in 14 chapters.
There are action illustrations with some chapters, which go from G-Rated to X-Rated. The X-Rated ones will be linked within the text rather than shown directly.

Crackfic based on (1) real mediaeval illuminated manuscript illustration and (2) real mediaeval historical events, with 2 ineffable incompetents dropped into the mix... (Now also illustrated by Yvesriba).
‘Aziraphale blinked muzzily, trying to remember where he was, who he was, and what shape he was supposed to be. After checking he hadn’t accidentally formed into a mass of twirling wheels and eyes in his sleep (he hadn’t, but it wouldn’t be the first time he’d let his corporation slip while in a drunken stupor), he stretched and yawned wide.
Then he looked up. And screamed.
“CROWLEY!”
“SsssswhAT!?” Crowley slid off the table onto the floor in a tangle of limbs and attempted to work out which way was up again. “Wassa problem?”
“What did we DO?”
“Got disgracefully drunk, I’d say.” Crowley replied blearily, rubbing at his head. “Shhhh, too loud.”
“BUT THE BISHOP, CROWLEY, WHAT DID WE DO TO THE BISHOP?”
“Got miserable old Stoneface drunk too, din’ we?”
“CROWLEY! LOOK AT HIM!”
Crowley looked in the direction that Aziraphale’s trembling finger was pointing.
“Oh f***.”’

Summary
Unbeknownst to him, he had arrived at a Crossroad. The first path was straight as an arrow and led to a universe where they’d continue to live in different realms of Time, the demon working during the night and the angel working during the day. At the end of this path, Crawly would one day accept a basket with a sleeping infant wordlessly and relieved to his bones that the miserable experience of Earth existence was finally over. This path, obviously, was also the one they were supposed to take.

For all the times Crowley has imagined this, all the different reactions Aziraphale might have, he’d never expected the angel to ask wretchedly, “Why?”
Aziraphale looks at him, mouth twisted in an unhappy moue. “Why would you love me? I have done nothing to deserve that.”
“Angel,” Crowley says, because he has a list of all the reasons he loves Aziraphale, a list he’s been working on for at least three thousand years, since he first learned to read and write. Its been carved on stone tablets, etched on tree bark, painted on walls, scribbled in notebooks, and, most recently, saved as a Google doc.
It's quite the extensive list.
