    Summary

Spider-Man is a relatively new, controversial vigilante, and Johnny has a crush the size of the Empire Building. The Four - operating under the assumption that Spidey is an adult - do not approve.

“I just happen to think Spider-Man's cool,” Johnny says, matter-of-factly. “A hero can think another hero is cool without making it weird. I admire his aloofness. And his badass-ness.”

“His aloofness,” Ben repeats, chuckling into his mug of beer. It’s roughly the size of Johnny’s head. “Yeah, sure, I bet that’s all your admire, right?”

There should have been nothing remarkable about two people in a busy cafeteria, but Becket takes in the familiar sight of curly hair, brown eyes, and a t-shirt with a science pun on it talking animatedly alongside Actual Anthony Edward Stark and promptly drops his lunch.

He gapes for a solid second, seeing but not believing. It definitely doesn’t look like Mr. Stark is forcing the kid to leave, or firing him, or escorting him to security given the relaxed smiles on both of their faces. If anything, Becket thinks Mr. Stark looks rather proud.

“So, uh, Mr. Stark definitely knows Roomba-Kid,” Becket says and discreetly tilts his head in the direction of the pair.

“Oh my god,” Jess says. She almost sounds gleeful. “Oh my god, he’s not just some random kid. He’s Mr. Stark’s kid.”

or: the interns at Stark Industries have some questions about Peter Parker. The answers aren’t quite what they expect.

    “They’re gay.”

“It’s a gay club.” Newt stated, not entirely sure what Minho’s point was.

The Asian rolled his eyes. “Bravo, Einstein, it’s a gay club, you can read signs. I meant that Thomas knows them. He knows that they’re gay. Teresa and Brenda are together.”

He didn’t get what Minho was getting at. “Uhm… your point?”

Minho let out a sigh so loud it was audible despite the music. Newt frowned at him. Rude. Rude bartender. Rude hot bartender, but still rude bartender. “Look, blondie, I don’t know who you are, but Thomas took half an hour getting up the courage to talk to you, and he’s not one to get scared away easily. It’s gonna be expensive for me if I have to use my discount to keep this newfound alcoholism of him going whenever you’re near, so I’m only going to say this once before I have to go back to serve drinks to that bachelor party over there.” He started, pointing over his shoulder with his thumb to a big group of guys in very tight pants. “So listen close. Thomas likes you. Thomas drank a lot to find the courage to go for you. He’s like a puppy, he’s loyal. Give him a chance."

“Tell me if I’ve got this right.” Teresa sounds like she’s struggling to hold back laughter. Thomas hates her. “You spent most of your six-hour flight flirting with a hot stranger, only to find out he’s actually the author whose press conference you were meant to be covering.”

And I told him I had no interest in reading any of his books,” Thomas adds, because what the hell. He may as well lay all the facts out. “I also might have told him that we used to date.”
