Eddie barely had time to brace and Steve wasn’t quite fast enough to avoid Eleven’s elbow connecting with his forearm when she threw herself into Eddie’s arms, sobbing first to burst.

"No, no," he shakes his head, groaning at the way the movement makes his skull pound. "B'cause, he. he's dead, Rob. I think I love 'im and I told 'im not t' be the fuckin' hero and he died an'way."

Summary
And just like Mike clearly hadn't been thinking when he'd said those words, and how much they would affect Will, he wasn't thinking about him back in the pizza kitchen either. Mike never thought about him at all anymore, his supposed best friend.
"I feel like my life started that night we found you in the woods."
As if, just the night before, Will's own life hadn't begun it's slow, agonizing end when he was taken to the Upside Down.
Just thinking about it made Will's mouth go dry, taste like nothing but cold-rot-ash-despair-death.
a much-needed thing that needs to be addressed on will's behalf, imo. that had to hurt his precious little soul like a bitch.
