Summary
After a rather harsh argument with his older brother, Alphonse storms off and disappears for a week, only to return to an empty dorm, a lonesome red cloak, and an emotionally scribbled note.
Drachma and Amestris are on the brink of full-out warfare, with Drachma assaulting the North and North West borders of Amestris with alarming frequency. Both regular soldiers and State Alchemists are fighting for their lives on the frontlines.
Miraculously, full genocide is narrowly avoided and the two countries had come to delicately maintained impasse. Only, a vindictive Drachman recruit has a bone to pick with Amestris, and pulling the trigger of his rifle has sent the two countries toppling from their precarious impasse and over the edge.
