A few weeks after stabilizing the Circus and coming to terms with their permanent life there, the gang agrees to bring Caine back- on the condition that Kinger rewrites his code and removes his power over the world.
Caine awakens to find himself on relatively equal footing with humans for the first time in his life. Can he learn to listen and understand them now that he's no longer bound to his program's original purpose? Will the humans ever be able to truly forgive him for everything he's done to them? Can anything truly change?
Featuring Caine trying human things, found family bonding, and a healthy dose of angst while everyone processes their various traumas and learns to accept this new world they're making together. Or tries to, anyway.

When it came to Sun, his curiosity and love for the unknown was what had attracted Moon. Who wouldn’t fall in love with someone’s love for life? Moon had always admired the other for it.
The arts, science, literature, animals, both of them loved them. Sun especially loved the arts, Moon loved science. Both adored animals.
Much of their species did.
And like a majority of those who lived amongst the stars, they were especially fascinated by humans.

It also was inaccurate; the legs were made thicker, the horns and sharp edges softened, and Stags did not have wheels. Yet, on the bottom of this small statue, the platform which held the Stag had attached to it four small wheels.

Hornet woke in the Black Egg Temple to the sight of her sibling's fractured mask. For the walk from the temple's central chamber to its exit, she thought herself truly alone in the world once more.
When Hollow followed her out, she realized that wasn't so. But now she has to try and take care of her older sibling as they recuperate and learn to live in a world where they do not have to be pure, figure out what to do about what Little Ghost left of a body, and try to piece together two kingdoms which fell long ago.
Life keeps throwing her surprises, too, which does not help.

Hollow's very purpose denied them anything but the most disguised and fleeting of affections.
Yet, as they watch their father negotiate with the final Dreamer, agreeing to bring their sibling into the world so they could be sealed away and the child could lose their mother, they know their sibling's life will be different. Born into Deepnest's shadows instead of the Abyss, with a mother and a caretaker and a family at the White Palace who did not have to ensure they grew up without personhood...
There are many steps before they can meet their sibling, though.

Lace looked to her right.
Hornet wasn’t moving.
Lace was a little dramatic at times, yes. She and her sister made up for Mother’s stone-cold demeanour with their theatrics and banter. The hunter herself even lamented on how annoying she was to her face. More than once.
Despite that, it wasn’t too far off the mark to say that seeing Hornet like that made Lace's heart drop.

Set after the events of Act 3, Hornet and Lace get captured and sent to the Slab, where they must work together to break out of the prison and find out what's going on
