Summary
“Hurts,” Regulus repeated and tilted his head back on the couch, trying to catch a full breath. “I feel empty and I hate… I hate that you have to see me like that. It's not—It's not me.”
“I still think you're the loveliest.”
Leaning into James' touch, Regulus' eyes fluttered open. “You think I'm lovely?”✧ Or, when Regulus needed a home after a bad break-up, James jumped on the occasion.
Little did he know they would share everything soon enough. Everything, except... how long James had been in love. They have a system and it works, at least until Regulus forgets his suppressants.Bookmarked by IAmASimpleSimp

Summary
"Mairon opened his mouth, but no words came out. He did not know how to even begin to articulate the feeling that had gripped him, love that was lust that was a dark, fierce craving throbbing in his stomach: a need to touch and to possess, to take Melkor and break him open until the boundaries between lord and lieutenant ceased to matter.
He was Melkor’s, that much was true, had always been true; but Melkor was also his."
It is a night of revelry in Angband: spirits are high, drink is flowing freely, and Mairon makes a bold request.

Summary
“I should whip you again,” Melkor said conversationally from where he was sprawled among the pillows in his bed, watching Mairon as he examined himself in the mirror.
Mairon turned. A smile flashed across his face, a small one, hiding secrets. “I need to be able to sit down, my lord.”
Melkor’s gaze darkened. He moved to kneel up on the bed, reaching for Mairon and drawing him close by the waist. “Not if I have you on your back all day.”
A teasing little laugh left Mairon’s lips. He wound his fingers in Melkor’s hair and tugged, hard. “I have meetings.”
“Cancel them.”
“I have meetings with you.”
“I’m sure whatever it is can wait.”

Summary
“The sortie was a triumph,” Mairon says, holding the helm upon his lap and gazing up into his face. He smiles a smile that grows and stretches, wider and wider, as though there is something within him that cannot be contained. Something vast. Something keen. “Beleriand is open to us. Those who thought we could be penned in, who thought our might the lesser, lived to regret such misapprehensions. Or,” he adds, showing his teeth, “did not live, as the case may be.”
Melkor is drawn to that smile, to the something—vital, beguiling—underneath it. He reaches out. Places the leather of his gloved palm and fingers upon Mairon’s cheek. Beneath the leather, pain tingles, his burned skin protesting the contact. Mairon nuzzles against him, eyes flickering shut, a noise issuing from him that is happy and mindless, like the purr of some great pleased beast; and Melkor forgets the pain.
“Congratulations are in order, I should think,” he tells him, “to the brilliant mind who engineered this victory.”
