Summary
In their second life, Li Rong chose Pei Wenxuan. He was the right choice for her; but the circumstances also helped to resolve certain consequences for her. And Pei Wenxuan, despite his convictions, didn’t have to face the real cost of his love.

Summary
Upon realising their favourite toys may be wiped out by the Long Night, the Gods agree to start breaking the rules. In this attempt they send Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen back to the time of Daemon and Rhaenyra Targaryen, having observed their close relationships in another attempt to change history, they decide to offer Jon and Daenerys a choice. They can stay in the past and become fully present to try to prevent the Dance of Dragons and the ultimate downfall of House Targaryen (and their now best friends along with it) if they so choose. Of course there is just one catch, the price of trying to change this history; once they choose to remain, they can never return to their own time...
(Note: this story should be readable as a stand alone story, however it is a divergent story from my other fic, 'Like Teaching Dragons to Breathe Fire', and picks up and alters course after chapter 19 of that story)
