Summary
These are mostly oneshots for my Human!Octonauts AU, though some of them are connected.
Peso gets anxiety from his job, Kwazii makes Tweak's job ten times harder, Shellington should be legally barred from driving, they all run into a colossal squid who tries to eat them— You can see why Peso gets anxiety.
Chapters 5 and 6 are about the scariest event the Octonauts had ever (and will ever) experience in their careers: an encounter with a colossal squid.
Reader discretion is advised to those who are screamish and don't want their parents to catch them reading fanfic at 1 AM.

He already had miniature Disrupt-o-bots to enter their suits from last time he did this, so this was such an easy revenge!

Accept for the fact that Aviva was already a step ahead and made sure that Martin and Chris' suits couldn't be hacked like that again.
Zach tried messing with the suits for a good while before giving up, and he eventually completely forgot about it...Little did he know that him messing with those suits was actually going to cause problems for Chris and ESPECIALLY Martin a month later during a cave expedition gone wrong...

The first thing Mac realized was that he was being carried, the second thing he realized was that he’d died.
Death left a very specific taste in his mouth, ashy, like he’d taken a big mouthful of a burned out campfire.
In addition to the taste — though that was always the most distinctive sign — was the bitter cold. Even being soaked in freezing water, as he also happened to be, failed to elicit the depths of cold that haunted him after a revival. It felt like his heart was pumping ice-water instead of blood.
Suddenly he was being lowered, a hand cupping the back of his head on the way down to keep it from knocking against the ground. That alone was enough to cue Mac in on who’d been carrying him. “I don’t know where I am right now.” Mac mumbled. He was aware he was slurring, slightly. He felt like he weighed a million pounds, or maybe like he’d been welded in place into his car. Immovable. Lethargic. His skin felt damp, he didn’t know if he was sweating or bleeding. He felt too cold to be sweating. “But I need help. Can you…”
Mac closed his eyes. Can you what? Find me? Not leave me? Just talk to me?
The voicemail beeped, marking an end to the message.
Mac redialed.

Summary
He’s sinking back in, the mud refusing to relinquish its hold on him. A shudder runs up Mac’s spine as he drags himself out of the mud. Slowly, painfully, clawing at the earth trying to find a hold to use to free himself. Small roots and grass are ripped loose in his destructive wake of panic.
Finally, finally, Mac’s legs pull free from the mud and scrambles back from the unmarked grave.
The unmarked grave that almost became his.

Summary
Mac flinches out of oblivion, and he thinks he might throw up. His entire body feels brutally jarred, shaken. He hit the ground and expected the agony of it to follow, but nothing comes.
Just a deep, unrelenting exhaustion.
He draws heavy, panting breaths into his flattened lungs.
The world shakes under him. It takes far too long for Mac to realize it’s not the world trembling, it’s him. Harsh shudders wrack his frame and all he has the strength to do is lay there and try to piece himself back together.
OR,
Mac has the worst acid trip of his life.

Soap chokes, splutters, his lungs burning as saltwater mingles with the blood in his throat. He coughs up the briny, metallic mixture, gasping for air as his body fights against the tremors that have taken over him.
“Come on, Johnny, don’t fuckin’ die on me,” Ghost’s voice is sharp, frantic, but there’s a crack in it—something raw and fragile that doesn’t belong with the usual unshakable confidence he carries. His breath hitches, but he doesn’t let go. Not once.
Soap’s head lolls to the side, his vision blurred by the salt in his eyes, the burn in his chest. He’s not sure if he’s still alive, or if he’s in some kind of limbo between the world he left behind and whatever comes next.
But Ghost doesn’t give him the luxury of drifting off.

Summary
What if Jay developed asthma after having seawater in his lungs for so long?
After the end of seabound, Jay is dealing with a trifecta of issues; grief from losing Nya, PTSD from almost drowning, and a new medical diagnosis which he is doing his best to ignore. It doesn’t help that his asthma episodes and emotional spiraling form a feedback loop, making everything worse. His friends are all dealing with their own issues, but at some point Jay needs to admit, he just can’t do this alone.This was supposed to be a “5 times Jay hid an asthma attack and one time he couldn’t” type format, but I got a bit carried away and now it is a stupidly long deep dive filling the gap between Seabound and Crystalised. Mostly canon compliant, with Jay being the main exemption. Given that at the start of Crystalised the team is still fractured and miserable, the ending doesn't resolve everything, but it is still somewhat positive. Lots of angst, comfort, and Jay gasping for air.
