Summary
Prince Nathaniel is finally found and brought back to the castle after killing his own mother to return to his rightful place as crown prince. That is what everyone is told by King Nathan after finding Nathaniel with his mothers charred bones. Neil must come to terms with the shackles that bind him to this castle and manage to find his own freedom even when his wings are clipped. Neil finds that he cannot run any longer but he also finds a way to live even when in a cage. Plans change from running to defiance and ruling.

“My lost son has killed his captures and returned to his rightful place as heir. It is a cause for celebration, no?” The tone of Nathan’s voice made Neil’s skin crawl. This was no mercy. This was Nathan keeping up appearances for the nobles. Instead of stomaching the embarrassment of his queen and heir running away he would shift the blame. He would rewrite history. He would blame the Hatford royal family calling this a betrayal that they kidnapped his heir. Ending with his triumph as his heir has killed his own mother, a traitor and returned to the throne to fulfill his duties as heir. Neil’s stomach churned at the thought. By tomorrow every newspaper would write that he had killed his mother. -

Summary
One simple sentence and his whole world had changed. Everyone around him had changed. The only thing that hadn’t changed was Sanemi. How disgusting he was. How utterly perverse his feelings were for another man. Sanemi was tearing apart at the seams. The very seams that Giyuu had placed within him. Sewing up all of Sanemi’s broken pieces with his love, his being.
How could that be so wrong? How could something as beautiful as his and Giyuu’s love be wrong? Giyuu took an ugly and broken man and chose to love him. Chose to put all of his grotesque pieces back together. Chose to heal his monstrous wounds and look at him with adoration in his eyes as if he was beautiful. How could that be wrong? To look down on Sanemi for the vile monster he truly was is one thing, but to look at Giyuu like that was another. Giyuu the most gorgeous and enchanting person that has ever walked the earth. Yet, now they looked at him as if he were anything but. As if Sanemi had made him as vile and monstrous as he himself was.

“Please just listen to me. Just for a minute. That's all I’m asking, please,” Sanemi gasped out. He lifted his trembling hands, hovering them around Giyuu’s face. Afraid to touch him. Afraid that Giyuu would flinch away from his touch. Afraid Giyuu would push him away and never let him touch him again. Maybe it was the face Sanemi was making or maybe it was the deranged desperate look in his eyes but Giyuu gave a small nod of permission for Sanemi to speak. Heaven only knows how Sanemi was given this chance but he would take full advantage of it.
“Giyuu I know I’m hard to love,” Sanemi started. He saw the look on Giyuu’s face and spoke again before Giyuu could say anything to it, “Don’t lie and tell me I’m not. I’ve known my whole life that I’m hard to love. Hell my own father couldn’t even love me. I know I’m mean and defensive. I don’t let people in easily. I’m aggressive and I don’t know when to quit. Like a deranged dog with a bone.” At some point Sanemi had realized he had begun crying. When he started to cry, Sanemi didn't know.

Summary
“Giyuu what on earth could have dragged your sorry ass here at this hour,” Sanemi huffed. Giyuu had been mesmerized. As mean as the words sounded, Giyuu had heard the strain in them. Could hear the force it took to say them. That spurred Giyuu on further. He felt the shift in the air. He felt that something would change tonight. Whether good or bad Giyuu didn’t know, but for Sanemi he would take the risk.
“May I come in?” Giyuu tried to stay as neutral as possible. He didn’t want to give away why he had come here tonight. He needed to be inside Sanemi’s house first. Had to be in a position for it to be as hard as possible for Sanemi to run from him. To run from the change that was about to crash over the both of them.
So, when Sanemi opened the door further fully allowing Giyuu to come in it felt monumental. Like Giyuu had already overcome a major obstacle in his path to Sanemi. Then Sanemi started walking further inside his home and it made Giyuu giddy. As if Sanemi was inviting Giyuu into the core of his soul rather than keeping him on the outskirts to merely look into it.

“Giyuu what on earth could have dragged your sorry ass here at this hour,” Sanemi huffed yet opened the door further to see him properly. Maybe even silently inviting him in though Sanemi would never admit that.
“May I come in?” That's all Giyuu said. He didn’t change his facial expressions. Didn’t change his tone. He gave away no indication as to what he wanted. So Sanemi sighed and pretended to be thoroughly annoyed, but he opened the door further and stepped aside to fully invite him in.
Giyuu only gave a small nod before entering and stood there at the front door. After standing for a beat Sanemi decided to just walk to his living area and hoped Giyuu would take the silent request to follow him. Luckily he did. Before Sanemi could sit on the couch however, Giyuu spoke again in a soft almost plea like voice, “Why do you hate me?”
