Years before dragons reshape Berk, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III discovers a hidden cove with ancient altars to forgotten gods.
Desperate for somewhere he belongs, he begins leaving offerings.
Something answers.
A year later, he wakes to a strange screen:
“Welcome to the Game of Life.”With a system he barely understands and the favor of old gods, Hiccup begins to change—growing stronger, learning forbidden skills, and quietly befriending dragons.

Summary
Dagur scares most of the people in his tribe. Which suits him just fine. Most people either wanted to replace him or use him to get ahead, and he knows this well even at the prime age of 10. So Hiccup is a breath of fresh air.
Hiccup knows people on Berk would rather that he not exist. He tries to make himself disappear as much as possible. So Dagur’s arrival while Hiccup is seven is the chance to have someone actually want to see him.
What if their relationship had been friendlier?
What if Dagur had been a little more possessive a little earlier?

Summary
Hiccup is more dragon than human he likes to think. After killing the Red Death, he had spent almost all his time leading his nest and caring for dragons. The people of Berk were kinder to him, but Hiccup is wary. He keeps to himself and he works to help all the dragons that he can. He actively seeks out dragons hurt by traps.
When he finds the dragon eye while looking for scrap he goes beyond the edges of Berk’s maps and finds the impacts of dragon hunters. And the dragon hunters begin to feel the impact of a clever Hiccup.
Viggo becomes intrigued by the reports of a Night Fury. What happens when a more feral Hiccup comes into conflict with the Grimborns?
