Summary
Rhaenyra is the young heiress of a metalworking company. At 25, she has just assumed an important role in the firm, and It's all quite simple: she can't let her attention wander from work. She has expectations to meet. As the first female heiress of the Targaryen family, she needs to live up to their good name and reputation. Having Alicent Hightower as her secretary makes this objective difficult.
Alicent isn't innocent; she knows about the looks the young general manager has been giving her. Alicent comes from a working-class family but decided long ago that she wants much more out of life. Perhaps the young Targaryen is her one-way ticket to the top of the social hierarchy. It certainly helps that Rhaenyra is so good looking and so easy to manipulate.
