Summary
A branch snaps. His whole body flinches as he twists around, his grip tightening around the frog even though he knows he should drop it and grab his axe, and he barely remembers to lift his shield.
It’s just Punz and it’s hard to read the mercenary’s face, but Dream’s pretty sure they look amused. They probably stepped on that branch on purpose to keep from sneaking up on him, and he hates that they were able to get so close because it means he wasn’t paying enough attention. He wants to drop the frog and pretend nothing happened but his fingers refuse to budge.
He’s still scared. Why is he still scared? It’s just Punz.

Midoriya Izuku gave up his dream of becoming a hero a long time ago, and not long after, realized how corrupted society was. In a world where quirks were the basis of everything, he didn't stand a chance, instead opting to provide for his mom and live a normal life.
Now, if only everybody would stop pestering him to be a hero!
