It is a lesson that Tachy and EVE, mentor and protege alike, must learn quickly in order to complete their mission lest they never lay eyes upon the Colony again.

A sanctuary desecrated. A home violated. A cradle no longer. All describe the 7th Airborne Squad's garrison through the eyes of EVE as the day of her fateful clandestine mission approaches. Mother Sphere's angels grow up fast; they needed to in order to fulfill the mission - or more accurately, die trying. But none had to quite as rapidly as EVE.

The EVE Protocol and the 7th Airborne Squad survives the first attempt by a cabal hell bent on undermining it, but not unscathed. New threats surface from the shadows, and EVE is left little time to pick up the pieces in the aftermath. The scope of the plot widens and more questions than answers surface, forcing EVE to question who or what she can trust as she becomes who she was meant to be.
A continuation of my highly speculative traumatic origin story for EVE.

And so the saga of her nascence begins.
